Many working-class individuals spend more time sitting in front of the computer than they would like. They finish up the workday feeling like they&#8217;re half asleep rather than feeling like they want to go home to feed their families. The wide world of technology keeps us feeling stressed out and at times, even depressed. If you are one of those individuals, a refreshing swim at the pool is the answer to your problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When going to the gym to exercise at the end of a long day at work sounds exhausting, try swimming instead. There&#8217;s a long list of health benefits for those who spend only an hour and a half a week at the pool. Not only is swimming great for your health, it&#8217;s also relaxing. You will wonder why you didn&#8217;t choose to go swimming rather than exercising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>. Swimming will help you lose weight.<br>. It is a great way to strengthen your lungs.<br>. Swimming builds endurance.<br>. It also strengthens and tones your muscles.<br>. It firms up flabby skin.<br>. Swimming keeps you limber.<br>. If you are having trouble sleeping, go swimming. It&#8217;s very relaxing.<br>. It also decreases stress and anxiety levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Swimming is a great way to burn calories so if you are sitting in an office all day knowing those pounds aren&#8217;t going anywhere, you may want to enroll in a swim program rather than going to the gym to exercise. Lifting weights can cause injuries, jogging can cause injuries, exercising can cause injuries. But swimming will not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your lung capacity will increase if you swim on a regular basis. When you are swimming under water you have to hold your breath. This is a great way to strengthen your lungs. It tones up flabby skin, especially if we are losing weight. It strengthens our heart and lungs, strengthens our muscles, and it&#8217;s good for our joints unlike jogging which can cause injury to them after time. After years of running our ankles, knees, and feet have had enough unlike swimming because the water holds us up, making our body feel light. There is barely any stress put on our joints, yet at the same time, it strengthens them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are feeling stressed out, anxious, or depressed, try swimming a couple times a week. Swimming reduces our hormones naturally, thus decreasing stress and depression. Our endorphins are known as our feel-good hormones. They are released as we swim. When we no longer feel anxious, our sleep is improved, giving us more energy for the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What do these types of strokes do for us? The breaststroke is the absolute best stroke for a full-body workout. It is a slower stroke that helps strengthen our whole body. It is a faster stroke that helps build endurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The backstroke is known by the pro&#8217;s as &#8220;the elegant stroke.&#8221; It helps to improve our posture, it strengthens our back muscles and our chest muscles, and shapes our back and thighs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The butterfly is the stroke that helps us lose weight. It helps us burn those unwanted calories that tend to stay with us when we sit in front of the computer at work. The butterfly also strengthens our legs and shoulder muscles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experts tell us that mixing up our strokes will help strengthen all of our body. They were compared to kids who didn&#8217;t swim hardly at all. The kids who swam had better motor skills than those who didn&#8217;t swim. Their intelligence levels were higher too.
