LeBron James is undoubtedly an exceptional basketball player and athlete. Today he is known as one of the greatest of all time, if not the greatest of all time. There was a time when people doubted his place among the greatest. Prior to 2016, some felt that James did not have the accolades to claim to be the GOAT. In 2016, he changed all of that.

While playing with Cavaliers, LeBron James worked tirelessly to bring them an NBA title. In 2016 he showed exactly what he was made of. The Cavaliers were in the final against the Warriors and were 3-1 down. James then showed three of the best performances ever seen in NBA finals in three consecutive games.

The incredibly talented James was unsurprisingly given the MVP award for the finals. During game 7 alone he recorded a triple-double of 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. To say that he alone won the Cavaliers the NBA final would be unfair. His teammates performed incredibly well in the NBA finals, with Kyrie Irving recording the final points to claim the win. However, what James did was provide the cutting edge to ensure Cavaliers were a step above the opposition. In a game as close as Cavaliers/Warriors a step can mean a lot.

While debates will rage on as to who was the greatest player of all time, James has little more to achieve to be given the crown. There will always be people on team Jordan and team James but it appears to many that what James has achieved and how long he has spent achieving such greatness makes him a deserved winner of the title of greatest of all time. While Jordan came first and laid the ground for James to walk on it is now time to hand him the crown.
